I started by thinking of what I wanted to make that would go well with my room. Seeing how my room is beech themed I thought that I should create something that resembles that. In my designer notebook I added sketches of my idea.
After I had my idea I used Illustrator to design it. After one class period I had the design finalized and I was ready to start using the vinyl machine. The next class I got my flash drive and saved the file onto it as a CS6. I did the black palm trees first. Then I loaded the vinyl with a sheet of black vinyl, making sure that the rollers were over the grips. I pressed enter and the machine measured the size of the sheet.
I applied it to my wall in my room to match my beach theme. I didn't have a squeegee at home and my wall is slightly textured but I worked the decal onto it. I learned a lot in this project. You can layer anything you want and make any design imaginable. And that vinyl is very sticky and will stick to almost anything which can be good and bad. I learned how easy it was to use a vinyl cutter, simply make a design put the vinyl in and send it. I am very happy with what I have created and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to.
